Best betting tips for soccer on Saturday 30 March

The four-fold

Leicester City vs AFC Bournemouth

Nottingham Forest vs Swansea City

Bristol Rovers vs Luton Town

Northampton Town vs Port Vale

  • Total value: 18.31 – a R100 bet would win your R1 831 back.

Here’s where we play it safe… sort of. Leicester are looking much more dogged under Brendan Rogers, picking up consecutive wins in March. Luton are charging towards the Championship, and we’re backing them to do the business on Saturday. Elsewhere, Northampton should have enough in the tank to see off Port Vale.

You’re seeing a first from me here: I’m backing my team – Nottingham Forest – to win on the four-fold. They’ve let me down in every single aspect in my life so far, and the same usually applies in betting. However, they’ve won four of their last five home games and have a few key players returning to the team: You can invoice me your losses if they end up costing us this bet.

The long shot

Burnley vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Reading vs Preston North End

Wycombe Wanderers vs Shrewsbury Town

Tranmere Rovers vs Carlisle United

  • Total value: R37.95 – a R100 bet would win your R3 795 back.

Maybe it’s daft to suggest that Burnley can overcome Wolves, but that’s what the long shot is all about. The visitors have a patchy away record and can’t keep clean sheets on their travels. Preston, meanwhile, look like a much more favourable pick. We also think Shrewsbury and Tranmere will continue their good runs of form this weekend.

Both teams to score

West Ham United vs Everton

Stoke City vs Sheffield Wednesday

Wigan Athletic vs Brentford

Middlesbrough vs Norwich City

Blackpool vs Plymouth Argyle

Forest Green Rovers vs Milton Keynes Dons

  • Total value: 31.00 – a R100 bet would win your R3 100 back.

Double trouble: Winners and Both Teams To Score (BTTS)

Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield Town

Manchester United vs Watford

  • Total value: 11.02 – a R100 bet would win your R1 102 back.

We’ve had a bit of success with this recently so we’ll be carrying on, here: Palace and United are indeed overwhelming favourites to win, but we’ve a sneaky feeling they will both concede in victory. The pressure is on for The Eagles, and Town hit three on their last trip to the capital. As for Watford, they’ll definitely give Ole some headaches.

Best individual betting tip for the English Premier League

Brighton to be winning at half-time vs Southampton, match to end in a draw.

  • Total value: X – a R100 bet would win your R Y back.

The nerves will be fraught in this South Coast derby. Both sides are just above the relegation zone, and desperately need all three points for breathing space. It doesn’t look like it will happen, but we reckon that Brighton are good value to get the advantage before being pegged back.

Betting tips for the Premier Soccer League and Nedbank Cup

Bloemfontein Celtic TO WIN against Golden Arrows

Bidvest Wits TO WIN against Chippa United

Kaizer Chiefs TO DRAW with Cape Town City (after 90 mins)

Orlando Pirates TO DRAW with Mamelodi Sundowns*

  • Total value: R14.24 – a R100 bet would win your R Y back.

Two wins, two draws we’re going for. The Nedbank Cup quarterfinals really heat up on Saturday, and we can’t see past two home wins. However, Sunday promises to be a much tighter affair. Kaizer Chiefs are improving slightly, but they probably won’t be able to finish City off in the first 90. Pirates vs Sundowns is a guaranteed draw, too.
