Black Motion – ‘The Healers: The Last Chapter’

The stellar house duo Black Motion is Thabo “Smol” Mabogwane and Bongani “DJ Murder” Mohosana.

They introduce their new album to the world with chart-topping South African vocalists, such as Brenden Praise, Msaki, Ami Faku and NaakMusiq.

The duo narrates every album as a chapter in their lives. And, apart from their studio albums, the pair are electric on stage.

They recently celebrated 10 years of being together with a two-hour performance with Telkom Plus.

The album is a total of three hours and 49 minutes, so it is perfect for a Saturday afternoon braai.

Aminé – ‘Limbo’

Portland-born rapper Adam “Aminé” Daniel released Limbo as his second studio album following OnePointFive in 2018.

The album features Aminé reflecting on the death of retired basketball player Kobe Bryant in the second track Woodlawn and the Kobe interlude.

The rapper hit fame with his first single Caroline in 2016. It debuted at #96 on the US Billboard charts and rose to #11.

Then, in 2017 Aminé was a part of hip-hop magazine’s XXL 2017 Freshman class next to rappers Playboy Carti, Kyle and MadeinTYO.

Alicia Keys – ‘Alicia’

Grammy award-winner Alicia Keys recently released her seventh studio album which she decided to self-title.

She collaborates with some of R&B’s finest voices: Miguel, Jill Scott and Snoh Aalegra. She even features Tierra Whack’s rap skills on Me x 7.

Tara Joshi comments on the album in The Guardian and says the collaborations provide striking moments in the album.

The singer and songwriter also recently announced her own skincare line called Keys Soulcare. It is due to release on 29 September.

Disclosure – ‘Energy’

English music duo Disclosure consists of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence. They are releasinge their album ENERGY five years after their last album Caracal.

On ENERGY, the duo feature Kelis, Kehlani, Mick Jenkins and rapper Common on the tropical song Reverie.

Apple music says the album justifies the brothers’ break from music and amplifies their return with an all-caps title, hence ENERGY.

The lead single for the album Know Your Worth came out in February in preparation for the album.
