After eleven days of living the ‘lockdown life’, South Africans and people over the world have found creative ways to keep themselves busy at home while the world deals with its latest pandemic.

Some of the ways of coping with the 21-day lockdown might produce some light chuckles.

A family in South Africa seemingly went on their own safari game drive…right in their own backyard.

2. Commentating on everyday life

With sporting events cancelled, a sports presenter decided to give a bulletin of people in their daily routine.

5. Going on a ‘breakfast run’

Going for a ‘breakfast run’ usually means going for ‘an early morning motor-cycle rally, held usually on a Sunday’. Now the term seemingly took on a whole new meaning:

6. Running a marathon

Watch as a man runs a marathon on his balcony during self-isolation.


Well, that's one way to do it. Elisha Nochomovitz, a 32-year-old restaurant worker living in France, ran the length of a marathon (26.2 miles) on his 23-foot long balcony while the country is on lockdown.

A man in a que in Woolworths went viral after wearing a scuba suit as a means of protection while buying food.

10. Making videos

A lot of people is taking to social media to make funny videos, like The Kiffness’ David Scott who is the ‘quaranqueen’. The Kiffness, who makes jazzy, groovy and uplifting house music and is said to be one of South Africa’s favourite live electronic acts, also went on to share his version of Toto’s Africa.
