kykNET confirmed that former Beeld journalist and 7de Laan scriptwriter, Piet Matipa, will be joining the crew for season two.

Matipa is an award-winning columnist and a recipient of an ATKV award, as well as a Standard Bank Sikuvile award for the best young journalist in 2014.
He was part of the Beeld team for three years. Matipa is currently working as a scriptwriter and storyliner on 7de Laan.

Matipa said he is very excited about joining Die Ware Naarheid but admits that he is also a tad bit scared. However, he is quick to add that it’s a good thing because fear and excitement is a winning combination.
He doesn’t shy away from controversial topics and assures viewers that quality content and a good dose of humour will be coming their way.
One of the show’s most memorable moments include the ‘roast’ of Emsie Schoeman, South Africa’s leading etiquette expert.
