Some political parties have expressed their readiness for this week’s by-elections.

The by-elections are to take place across the country on Wednesday after being postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown.

At least 96 vacancies for the positions of councillor will be contested in 56 municipalities. The by-elections were scheduled to take place earlier this year in March.

The vacancies across 56 municipalities are as a result of resignations, death or redeployment.
