The AA has welcomed the extension of the validity of all learner’s licenses and driving licenses card which expire between 26 March and 31 December 2020.
All learners licenses, driving license cards, temporary driving license cards and professional driving permits that expired from 26 March 2020 to 31 December 2020 are deemed valid for a grace period ending 31 August 2021.#

Motorists now have until August 2021 to apply for temporary driver’s licences and permits.
The association says government must take a re-look and develop a more streamlined and efficient system.
It also says the extension must be communicated to all traffic authorities around the country to ensure no motorist is penalised for non-renewals.
