The Cannabis Expo took off on a high note in Cape Town. On Thursday, Grand West opened its doors to scores of Mother City’s cannabis enthusiasts.
As reported by EWN, it was an affair that brought those interested in the cannabis business closer to understanding the true potentials of this amazing plant.
Cannabis Expo 2019: Day one’s highlights
From sexually-enhancing lubricants made from natural cannabis oils, to cannabis-infused pet treats, attendees were treated with a very informative event.
On its first day of three, the expo proved to be a very engaging event. It was less about the recreational use of the plant but more about its medicinal and commercial properties.
This multi-billion-rand industry is taking over at the moment. Many exhibitors showcased their cannabis-infused products, from coffee to lollipops. Some products had moderate levels of THC in them and others, like the sativa lube, didn’t.
Enthusiasts were also treated to a joint-rolling competition and other fun and engaging activities.
The Convention Stage saw industry experts like Dr Shiksha Gallow, a lead researcher and doctor at Cannabis Oil Research; Cornel van der Watt from The White Lion; and Mahmoud Hanachi from the Dutch Passion Seed Company, take turns in sharing their knowledge about the ins-and-outs of this business.
Crowds gathered with interest as experts discussed the laws around cannabis in South Africa, how to obtain a grower’s permit, the appropriate tools to use and the best fertilisers needed to grow the finest crop.
The three-day affair will conclude on Sunday, 7 April. It will then return to South Africa again in June (Durban) and November (Pretoria-Johannesburg).
