The tabling of the mini budget was scheduled for next Wednesday.
In a statement, Parliament said Mboweni has cited what he calls recent complex decisions taken by cabinet in respect of the 2020/21 adjusted estimates and the 2021 Medium Term Expenditure Framework as well as the implications of the time frames for the finalisation of government’s economic reconstruction and recovery plan on the budget process.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will table the Economic Recovery Plan in parliament on Thursday.
Below is the statement from the Presidency:
Mboweni’s request will be considered by the National Assembly’s programming committee when it meets on Thursday.
