H+K was tasked to increase Nokia’s presence and impact on Kenya’s social media space. H+K has identified Nokia’s Store as a vehicle for this interaction and has engaged in a deliberate exercise of cultivating the nascent blogging community. Pro-active engagement with bloggers through regular “happy hour” sessions has increased our database of bloggers by over 221% including Uganda and Tanzania. At the sessions, bloggers and tech media are exposed to Nokia Store Apps and other Nokia products. There has also been an over 107% increase in downloads from the Nokia Store in the region. Due to its success, this case study has been replicated in the entire sub-Saharan Africa region. The campaign won the 2011 Technology Campaign of the Year at the PRSK Excellence Awards.
