Building the brand by creating industry thought leaders

In 2011, H+K Strategies South Africa was asked  by a local law firm to build their brand presence within the local business media. This was especially important as they had just become part of a global law firm that was not well known locally.  The PR programme was targeted at building their brand through media coverage within premier business publications and channels. By the end of 2012, and despite the firm having  minimal to no media experience, the agency was able to generate 54 pieces of positive coverage.

The coverage was generated largely from successful one-on-one media interviews. Prior to media exposure, the firm’s executives were trained on how to become thought leaders within their industries of expertise.

They were also trained on how to move beyond “technical speak” and build closer media relationships by being proactive in interviews, understanding the preparation process and developing company messages for interviews.
